Rangers Shortstop Corey Seager Undergoes Sports Hernia Surgery
Procedure Repairs Left-Sided Injury
Surgery May Alter Season Outlook
WEB Rangers superstar shortstop Corey Seager underwent successful surgery to repair a left sports hernia on Tuesday, although it remains uncertain if he will return to play this season. According to Rangers general manager Chris Young, Seager's recovery time from the procedure is yet to be determined, potentially impacting his availability for the remainder of the campaign.
Seager has been sidelined with the injury since last Saturday, when he exited a game against the Baltimore Orioles after being hit around the hand-wrist. Prior to this, he had landed on the 10-day injured list twice in 2023: once with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain and once with a right thumb sprain.
The Rangers are hopeful that Seager will return to the lineup at some point this season, but his surgery may have significant implications for their playoff chances. Stay tuned for further updates on his recovery.
