Universal Islands of Adventure may be open seven days a week but every day is Sunday when you have to pass a midway of unthemed carnival games and an arcade to get from Marvel Super Hero Island to Toon Lagoon. Then from Toon Lagoon to Jurassic Park, you have to pass through another midway of games, this one dinosaur themed.
It's really annoying, especially when you're trying to get to a specific attraction quickly.
The park gets a lot of attention for its E-Ticket attractions such as The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and The Incredible Hulk Coaster, but it's the little things that can really make or break a day at the park.
The first concepts for the Islands of Adventure park were conceived by MCA Recreation Services in 1989, shortly after MCA purchased Universal Studios Florida from the original owners. The park was originally intended to be a smaller, more family-oriented park than Universal Studios Florida, and it was designed to appeal to a broader audience.
