On March 23, 1976, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) entered into force, marking a significant milestone in upholding the civil and political rights of individuals worldwide.
Worldwide Adherence
As of 2024, most countries have ratified the ICCPR, demonstrating the global recognition of its importance. Only 24 states remain outside of this treaty, while six have signed but not yet ratified it.
